Charged Up

In our first year competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, was the Charged UP season. The two game pieces include an inflatable purple cube and a yellow cone which you would place in a specified location. The endgame involved balancing as many of the alliance robots as you could on a scale. The game animation below explains how the game works as well as a few of the rules.

As it was our first year, we were still learning all the basics of building robots. We built a basic robot that could easily pick up and shoot the cubes while moving at quick speeds. At the Canadian Pacific Regionals in Victoria, we placed #5 overall, and in the playoffs, we were the first pick of Alliance 2, by team 4253 along with team 8338. Our team won 3 awards, The Highest Seeded Rookie Award, The Rookie inspiration Award and finally the Regional Finalist Award. We also received the wild card which allowed us to participate in the world finals at Houston, Texas.
