Ursa Major Robotics

Reefscape

This year was our teams 3rd year competing, and we competed at the Canadian Pacific Regional which now takes place at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC.

This year’s game pieces were PVC Pipe called “Coral” and a large green bouncy ball called “Algae.” You had to put the coral onto the reef while taking the algae out of the reef into either the processor or net.

Throughout the first week of build season, we thought out a design, began building field elements, and hosted an FLL competition at our school! In the next 6/7 weeks we began testing, building, programming, and practice driving. Our robot was ready to go on Feb 28th for the Canadian Pacific Regional at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver BC. There were 49 teams from all over the world including Canada, the US, Taiwan, China, and Brazil! Our robot was able to successfully collect coral from the coral station and place in on the trough as well as level 2 and 3.

Below is the game animation to more thoroughly explain the game.
