Crescendo

During our second year of competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, we participated in the Crescendo season. The game pieces in Crescendo are foam rings called “notes,” which you would score in either the amplifier or the speaker. The game animation below explains how the game works and the rules.

Before kickoff, our team struggled with the large amount of new members wanting to join our team, along with training both them and the members from the year before. When kickoff commenced, we had issues with figuring out a good robot design to build and weeks would pass with us not having much of a robot to show. Eventually, we finished our robot a few days before competition date on February 28th. At the competition, there were 36 teams from around the world including Canada, the US, Taiwan, China, and Brazil, many of which have been competing in FRC for many years. By the end of competition, we placed #6 overall and were Alliance Captain of #4 along with 6390 and 9449 as our alliance partners.

We had a great time meeting and learning with all the other teams. Our experience during the competition will continue to improve our team over time.
